MY BABY HACKS

Image
My baby hacks. When my little baby came into the world I had no idea what I was doing and I had no one to show me. I mostly winged it all and tried to do what I thought was right. Here are some hacks I leant along the way.  Use swaddles or cloths nappies under areas; I found it was a good idea to place a large cloth or swaddle blanket under anywhere you placed baby during the day. Whether it be a bouncer, play mat or car seat, this trick definitely saved me from a lot of spit ups and poo explosions!  Just throw the cloths in the wash and keep the surface clean.  Put new nappy under baby bum while changing; I started doing this one day and found it was much easier to change Bub. Just put he new nappy spread out under bum then wipe and swap out old one, easy. Also helped protect the changing mat 💩   Use nose sucker; I found using the baby ‘nose suckers’ much better then the regular ball aspirator. It may sound gross but the filter inside the tube sav...

I COULD LIE

Image
I could lie:  I could lie and say I’m the perfect mother, that we never get upset with each other.  I could say my house is clean every day and that I’m always there when you want to play.  I could say that I always get enough sleep and at night you never make a peep.  I could lie and say I always look good, with my make up and hair done like every wife should.  I could say that you never cry or whine and that you are well behaved all the time.  I could also say it’s a piece if cake, cleaning all the dirty nappies you make.  These words are not true but yet there’s more, they are those true things that I adore.  I adore your smiles when I read you a book and the fact that you think I’m the very best cook.  I adore your tiny fingers and little tiny toes and your sweet little face, oh how it glows.  I adore how excited you get when we play and how you want to just be with your mummy all day.  ...

MY NEWBORN MUST HAVES

Image
Newborn must haves: Having a newborn is completely overwhelming. I can tell you I was definitely not prepared for how hard it actually was, but here are some baby products that really helped when I had my baby newborn to three months.  Nappies -  Yep, of course you need a lot of these. You can choose to use either cloth or disposable, I had both. My favourite brand is ‘Thank you .’ nappies. They never leaked and every box purchased, funds are given to charity.  Baby wipes-  Again my favourite are the ‘thank you.’ thick baby wipes. I tried huggies but they seemed to give my baby nappy rash, the thank you brand did not and they are nice and big. I also liked using ‘water wipes’ the first six weeks with baby as they were gentler on babies skin.  Change mat:   Now this might not be a must have for everyone as you could change your baby on your bed, on floor or where ever you feel comfortable, but I love using my change mat in my change dr...
