My favourite ‘luxury’ baby products: 

So you are a new mum on the block and you hear  everyone talking about these baby products that you must have! But then you think, are they really worth the money ? 
Here is a list of baby items that at first I thought were overrated but are actually brilliant! 

Aden and Anais swaddles 
  • absolutely love these! I first stared off with the cheaper brand but once I decided to switch to Aden and Anais I was so glad I did! They are super soft and breathable, and they are a great big size so they can be used for feeding cover ups, burp cloths, blanket to lay on or for swaddling your little one tight! Plus they come in a rang of super cute patterns! I purchased my four pack at babysrus. 


Aden and Anais blanket
  • another a&a product I love are the classic dream blanket. Made with four layers of 100% cotton muslin, this blanket is the softest. I use it to snuggle with baby while I’m nursing or when we have play time on the floor. I purchased my Winnie the Pooh print blanket from Aden and Anais website. 

Love to dream swaddle
  • these are by far my favourite swaddles Iv tried. I love how stretchy but snug  they are and also they they provide a arms up position for baby so they feel more comfortable while sleeping. My boy loves them! I purchased mine at babysrus. 

* note if your baby likes a snugger for around the arms, the Ergo cocoon swaddles are also an option I liked. 

Ollie the owl
  • this little owl is great. He plays soothing Melody’s including white noise, rain, lullaby and heart beat to help baby sooth to sleep. Also his tummy lights up to a night light. Super cute and can attach to end of the cot. The only down side to this owl was that it only plays for twenty minutes, but will automatically turn back on when it senses baby’s crying sound. 
  • * Vtech turtle is also a good option for a sound machine. 

Gro egg 
  • this ‘egg’ is a great way to keep tabs on the temperature in your babies room. I like how the egg changes colour according to the temp. So it’s easy to read. I purchased mine from Baby bunting.


Gro bag
  • I love using the grow bag on colder nights or when my other swaddles were in the wash. Also it is a great tradition from swaddle to sleep bag as it has the option of arms in or out. My penguin print is from Baby bunting. 

Ergo carrier 
  • I tried a few carriers before commuting to purchasing this one. The price did throw me off at the start but I waiting until a great sale to purchase this. To be honest I don’t use this product too often, but when I do, Bub fits snug in it and usually falls asleep. 😴 I also like that it’s mesh so it does not get to hot for baby.

4moms bouncer
  • I also tried and returned  two bouncer before finding this one. Baby and I love it! It has three different vibration options and I also like how slick and modern it looks. 

Mombo nursing pillow
  • this pillow really contoured around my body and was a great fit for me and baby. I even purchased a mobile attachment so Baby could sit under it and be entertained while not feeding 👌🏻 

Bonds wondersuits
  • I feel like there are a need! It is so easy to just lay Bub in a suit, pop his arms and legs in and zip him up! It makes nappy changes so easy. And I like the bonds as they are stretchy and feel comfortable. 

Bubba blue wash cloths 
  • iv also really been liking the bubba blue range. They are an Australian company and there products just seem so well made (an adorable). I bought the full matching deer range or wash cloths, 100% pure cotton sheets,  baby duvet, change mat cover and hooded towel. I love them all!

Activists to encourage for infants and activities to avoid:  To some people I may seem like a very over responsible, over protective mother but I just try to do the best by my baby. They are still so new to the world, So these are the things I encourage and things I avoid when it comes to my little one.  Encourage: Play - Play is really important for babies, it’s how they learn and develop. I try to do a variety of different play scenarios everyday so my baby stays interested and has fun! Reading - reading to your baby is also very beneficial.
