I COULD LIE
I could lie:
I could lie and say I’m the perfect mother, that we never get upset with each other.
I could say my house is clean every day and that I’m always there when you want to play.
I could say that I always get enough sleep and at night you never make a peep.
I could lie and say I always look good, with my make up and hair done like every wife should.
I could say that you never cry or whine and that you are well behaved all the time.
I could also say it’s a piece if cake, cleaning all the dirty nappies you make.
These words are not true but yet there’s more, they are those true things that I adore.
I adore your smiles when I read you a book and the fact that you think I’m the very best cook.
I adore your tiny fingers and little tiny toes and your sweet little face, oh how it glows.
I adore how excited you get when we play and how you want to just be with your mummy all day.
I adore the smell of a fresh baby bath and the special times I can make you laugh.
But most of all, the thing that’s most true is how much I really truely love you.

Never grow up x
