MY 0-3 MONTH MUST HAVES
Baby 0-3 months must haves:
Hi new mummies, if you’ve read my previous blogs you would know all about my newborn must haves but once your baby is starting to explore the world you may fine you need a few more products. These are my 0-3month must haves.
All of my newborn must haves- of course still of my newborn must haves listed in my previous blog which includes nappies, wipes, wash clothes just to name a few.
Baby toys-
It’s Great to introduce your baby to knew exciting toys that are sensory or skilled based. Simple things like small rattles your baby can practice grasping and enjoying the sound they make. My baby loves his crunchy soft book as well as his soft teddy bear. Teething toys are also good even at this age for babies to safety explore things with there mouths.
Books- I started reading to my baby at one week old. Every night at bedtime and then I increased it to reading stories during the day also during play. Books are great for your little one, even if they don’t know what your saying yet they can enjoy listening to your voice and seeing the pictures and colours.
‘Each peach pear plum’ is one of our favourites.
Cot- If you feel comfortable transitioning your baby into a cot at the 2 or 3 month age this is entirely up to you but make sure you have a safe crib/cot up to standards with a firm baby mattress. I myself started using the cot for my babies naps at the 3 month mark to get him used to his nursery.
Black out curtains- I found these were a must for me to keep the room dark as possible for my baby. I’d recommend getting them from a proper curtain shop, they are a good investment.
Baby monitor- I could definitely not live without my baby monitor. I received one at my baby shower which includes a screen and speaker to always keep an eye on your baby. I use mine every day and night and will be using it for quite some time!
Car seat- this is a must have from the day you take your baby from the hospital. Your car seat must be up to standards (so I’d suggest new) and fitted correctly in your car by a specialist at any baby store (eg, baby bunting) they will provide you with a safety certificate. Some hospitals will ask you to see this certificate before leaving. You could also opt to fit the seat yourself if you know what your doing but then get it checked over by a professional fitter. Also two car seats should be preferable one for each parents car.
Stroller- A stroller is a must have to when taking baby to the shops or out on a walk. I purchase two types; a big deluxe pram and a simple baby stroller. Both work great and we keep one in my car and one in my husbands car.
Sound machine- now this may not be for everyone but my baby absolutely loves his Vtech turtle sound machine. It features white noise sounds along with lullaby’s and bedtime stories. My baby is much calmer when he has his lullaby playing for bed.
Baby cot mobile- again not everyone may need this but Forrest just love looked at his playgro mobile which played a tune and spun around. He would get very excited and kick his legs every time I would turn it on!
Bouncer- where would I be without my bouncer I don’t know! These are so handy and one of the only type of ‘seats’ my baby would enjoy being in. But choose carefully as I had to replace two which broke! So my favourite probably has to be the simple mesh bassinet.
Baby wear- of course baby wear is important and no matter the ‘style’ you go for for your baby, there are a few stamped that are a must have. Baby body suits, onesies, leggings, socks, a beanie and bibs. Have a few of each if these in neutral colours and your set.
Play mat- we loved and still love using our play mat. I choose a Winnie the Pooh Disney baby mat which features Pooh and friends toys dangling of the mobile arch. My baby loves trying to grab the toys and hear the sounds they make. A must have in my opinion for gross motor development.
Love of love! - of course babies need lots of love and attention. It important you meet there needs so they can grow in a save happy environment.
Good luck with your bubs!
