Toddler Christmas Gift Guide
Christmas gift guide
Buying Christmas gifts can go two ways, you can either feel really excited and know exactly what to get your children or you can become overwhelmed and have no idea. This year I was pretty organised and got my gifts sorted early.
Below are a list of what I got my two year old toddler for Christmas. I stuck mostly with the wooden Montessori theme and focused on Forrest’s interests and what I know he will play with more then once and that hopefully will last him years to come. So I’ll start with the bigger gifts and end with the stocking fillers.
Wooden BBQ- I seen this bbq and thought it would make a great gift! My son really loves his play kitchen so I think this will also be a favourite. I purchased mine from Kmart (AU). I also picked up a wooden food set to go with this. Picture below.
Wooden tree house- I loved the idea of this tree house for Forrest’s little 7 dwarf figures he loves to play with. Rather then a typical doll house I think this is a fun version and versatile. He could even use it to stack his cars in. You can find these at Kmart.
Miniland educational baby doll- one of the special gifts I got Forrest was a Anatomically Correct Baby Doll - Asian Boy. Forrest already loves to play with these cultural dolls at the library every week so when Santa asked him what he wanted for Christmas he whispered ‘baby dolly’ and it was the sweetest thing ever! I had to get one. These dolls come in all different types and are such great quality. I ordered mine online from The Nile AU.
Wooden mega car carrier- I saw this car carrier and it reminded me of the Melissa and Doug Carrie but at half the price! My toddler loves cars and trucks so I think this will be a winner. Available at Target (AU).
Wooden puzzle- Forrest has really been enjoying different types of puzzle so I picked him up another simple numbers puzzle from target. We have also been practicing our number so this is perfect.
Wooden tool set- this set also reminded me of the Melissa and Doug toy so I thought it was super cute. My son loves to watch daddy fix things so now he can have his own little set. Just be cautious of small parts on this set with younger children. Available at Target.
Steel pots and pans- this set is super cute. My son already has a couple of wooden pans that came with his play kitchen but I felt he needed some larger ‘real life’ pots. These are still kids size but perfect for filling with little toy fruit and veg. Purchased from Kmart.
Rainbow staking blocks- my toddler is really into blocks and building towers so I thought this would be a fun new Montessori toy. These are also good for improving kid's Hand-eye coordination and visual perception, expanding the sensitivity to colors and shapes. Available on Amazon or eBay AU.
Ok next,
Stocking fillers- it’s surprising how much you can fit in a stocking. Below are a list of little items I squeezed in there.
- Kids magnifying glass
- Toy bugs and Butterfly’s
- Coloured mini been bags
- Bubbles
- Paint rollers
- Gymnastic Ribbon
- Animal toys
- Toy story jocks
So there is my 2019 Christmas gift guide for toddlers. All these gifs were affordable and are very gender neutral. Most of them can be used in open ended play with gives us lots of possibilities at play time!
Merry Christmas to all!
