Simple spooky Halloween activities

 Simple Halloween activity

Halloween is here and that means fun Halloween activities for your little one! Below are a few of our favourite Halloween activities and crafts we whipped up this year ðŸĶ‡ ðŸ‘ŧ

Foil spider-

Simple roll up aluminium foil into balls as the spiders body, then glue on you spiders googly eyes and black paper legs and viola you have got your Halloween spiders. We hang ours up in Forrest playroom with wire ðŸ•· ðŸ•·

Skull dough-

We made a big batch of skull play dough this year. Colour your play dough green or which ever spooky colour you prefer then add your glitter and plastic skull heads ðŸ’€ recipe for home made play dough is on my insta play highlights.

Skeleton bone craft-

Print out you skeleton sketch and paste him onto black card. Then you can glue on your q tip’s on as your skeleton bones. ðŸĶī

Creepy crawlers sensory play-

You can really get fun and creative with this one. We used purple coloured rice as our sensory material and added in dates, prunes and black pasta bows as you creepy bugs. Then your child can scoop out the ‘bugs’ and pour them into their mini pumpkin buckets or cauldrons. ðŸŽƒ

Fall tree painting-

Again using foil, squish it into a ball to use as your paint tool. Dip your foil ball into your paint and dap it onto your tree stencil to create your fall leaves ðŸ

Pumpkin carving-

This was Forrest favourite! We literally had the BEST day going to the market, picking out our three Halloween pumpkins (small, medium and large) then coming home to start our carving! Of course I handled the knife and carving tool but Forrest participated by picking out which face design he wanted on his pumpkin along with helping draw the face on before I carved it. We created some pretty cool jack-o-lanterns ðŸŽƒ

Bat & spider slime-

Add some toy bats and spiders into play slim and yippee you have got Halloween slime. ðŸĶ‡

Skeleton skull painting-

We had fun this year finding skulls made out of foam and painting them with fun Halloween colours and glitter!

Bat cakes!-

This year we were inspired to make vegan bat cupcakes. The recipe is super simple and easy for your child to help with and we used Oreos to create the bat on top! x

Witches potion-

This was a fun one! Using little black witches cauldrons we found at the dollar store, place bicarbonate soda in the bottom then add in your coloured vinegar to create a bubbly reaction that looks just like a spell potion!

Halloween books and songs-

There are a great number of spooky themed books out there to read with you little ones. Some of our favourite are ‘Room on the broom’ and ‘Where’s Mrs Witch!?’ And we like to sing Halloween song and nursery rhymes including ‘five little pumpkins!’

Halloween movies-

Now that my son is three we have been enjoying watching Halloween movies like ‘The nightmare before Christmas’ , ‘Hocus Pocus’ & ‘Disney’s Halloween town’.

Trick or treating-

Of course we participated in trick or treating! Forrest choose to dress as Toy Story’s Woody and he had the best time!

That’s all for now! Hope everyone had a safe and spooky Halloween!
