THREE YEAR OLD CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE
Three year old Christmas gift guide.
Tis the season
This year we are implementing the four gift rule for our son in regards to Christmas gifts. I think Christmas can become so chaotic and stressful for some when we focus on all the materialistic presents to get when realistically children don’t expect much. Kindness and connection from family is a true gift for them ๐๐ป but I few thoughtful gifts can be special to them too x
"The four gift rule". Means parents are to give their child just four presents:
Something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read.
I think is a great idea to ensure you don’t go overboard with Christmas gifts which can become overwhelming. Here what i chose for my little one.
SOMETHING THEY WANT-
Let’s start with something they want. This year Forrest kept asking me for a tent. We would always make a forts out of blankets and chairs but of course that had for be packed up once we were done. So I thought a large tee pee for his playroom would be perfect! I got ours from Hip Kids AU.
SOMETHING THEY NEED-
Something Forrest needed was some new arts and crafts supplies. He’s always doing art projects, it’s really his favourite thing to do! So art supplies it is.
SOMETHING TO WEAR -
This year I checked out ‘Threadheads’ and found some super dude designs for kids. So I got Fo the Studio Ghibli tee as he loves those movies x
SOMETHING TO READ-
This year I got ‘The Highway Rat’ by Forrest’s favourite author Julia Donaldson. He has been asking for this book for a while now so I think he will really be excited for this one.
STOCKING FILLERS-
So I am not one to always follow the rules completely but to make things my own, so I also included some stocking fillers for my son.
I made sure I choose things that Forrest is interested in so these include some Moana figurines, a small wooden Christmas train, a doctor play set, some child sized garden tools and some stickers. Let’s hope they all fit in the stocking :p
If your family includes Santa in your home traditions you could always make the stocking fillers the gift from Santa, get an extra small gift from Santa or go all out! Its really your families decision on how gifts are given ๐๐ป.
Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas ๐
