Fall activities for your children
Fall activities for you and your children-
Yes I know we don’t really have a fall here in Australia, and it’s pretty much become our summer month now but why not enjoy the fall and Halloween activities all the way up until November!
Here are some fun fall inspired activities you can do with your family this season.
1. Make fall crafts
Paint pinecones, decorate pumpkins/make jack-o-lanterns or trace leaves on construction paper. You can even create a family tree using real leaves and branches. This is a great way to teach children about nature and the changing seasons.
2. Go fruit picking
Apple, orange or pumpkin picking is a favorite pastime. If you have somewhere you can access a fruit tree, gather some baskets and get picking. We are lucky enough to have a relative who have many orange and lemon trees we can harvest. All ages can enjoy this activity while eating fruit, climbing trees and being in nature.
3. Bake a family recipe
Whether it’s pumpkin pie or vegan apple muffins , get your child in the kitchen and create baked food and memory’s together.
4. Practice how to ride a bike
Now is the perfect time to learn how to ride. Before the air turns too hot, enjoy teaching your child this fun skill that will stay with them forever. Don’t forget your helmet.
5. Take a family portrait
Red, yellow and orange tones make for the perfect fall inspiration for a family photograph. You can have the photo taken by a professional photographer or use a iPhone to capture the special moment.
I would recommend Danijadephotography for beautiful photos.
6. Have a picnic
Pack a picnic basket and go to a nearby park with a blanket and a coffee. This is one of the best ways you can spend quality time with your children this season. Jump in a pile of leaves or enjoy the view near a lake. Most importantly, spend time laughing together and catching up with one another.
7. Decorate your home
With Halloween approaching, there are plenty of opportunities to decorate your home for the holidays. Spooky decor, Turkeys, pumpkins, pinecones, and leaves are perfect symbols for the fall. This can be a joint family effort, whether you are shopping together for new decorations, or going through spooky boxes and finding the perfect place for each item.
8.Organize a scavenger hunt
Create an outdoor scavenger hunt for your child and a day filled with fun! Leave clues around your neighborhood or park, and work together to solve each one. There are plenty of scavenger hunt printable s on Pinterest or create your own.
9. Sit by a campfire
Of you have a place available it’s cozy to sit by a campfire with you loves ones. You can roast marshmallows and tell spooky stories.
10. Just relax
Drink apple cider on your front porch, or go for a drive and listen to chill music. Take a moment to pause, breathe and fill with gratitude. Read a book, light some candles, or just go outside for some fresh air. Take it all in.
These activities will create memories and enjoyment for you children during these oct/Nov months.
Stay chill ✌️🍁
